Free DVD Ripper is a tool for converting your DVDs into media files. It takes video content from your DVDs and turns it into a single file that you may watch with a media player, which means you no longer need the disc.

Free DVD Ripper is a DVD ripping tool that is sometimes able to rip copy-protected DVDs. Despite its name, this DVD ripping app is not free. Put in your DVD, start the app, and click the load button. You are then given options for the video output, such as resolution, frame rates, etc. However, this tool also allows you to add video edits such as cropping, contrast, hue, etc., which is not something that is typically offered by DVD rippers.

Sophisticated and often inconsistent

Free DVD Ripper has several problems, and the first is that the tool is advertised as being free, but it only rips one DVD before making you pay. Secondly, it is able to rip DVDs even if they are copy protected, but its success rate is hit-and-miss, such as how it will rip one Star Wars DVD, but not another. Thirdly, there are plenty of free online tools that rip protected and non-protected DVDs without forcing you to pay. If the output file is unplayable, try using a media converter to convert the file to something like MP4, or you may download the VLC media player and play the output file on that.
